My hometown is Cherryville, North Carolina, just a few hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains. I attended and graduated from Davidson College with a degree in French and I taught for 8 years in the North Carolina Public Schools. I currently work in the Division of Digital Teaching and Learning at the University of Texas at Arlington as the Manager of Partnerships and I continue to teach French for the Department of Modern Languages. This year marks my 29th consecutive year in the classroom.
I received my Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001. Working as a chaplain for the Boy Scouts of America and teaching have both provided me with a very unique and rewarding ministry experience. The use of e-mail and the Internet to do ministry represent the enormous opportunity we have to reach the world for Christ. I am very excited and thankful to be able to use this technology to share the gospel with so many people.
My heart's desire is to teach and to seek new ways of applying the truths of God's word to every-day life. Helping others realize that God is not some far-removed entity is one of the goals of Carp's Daily Tidbits. I want to encourage those who know God, who have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, to deepen and grow that relationship. Likewise, I want to share the gospel with those who don't yet know Christ and to encourage them as they begin their daily walk with God.
